Le fléché au bout des doigts, exposed to the Musée régional de la Côte-Nord
11 September 2016

The Musée régional de la Côte-Nord will host the exhibition " Le fléché au bout des doigts" a presentation of the Interpretation Centre d'interprétation de la culture traditionnelle Marius- Barbeau.

September 11, 2016 to January 8, 2017, the sept-iliennes families and visitors are invited to discover or rediscover a craftsmanship of Quebec, the arrow sash. Described as "a masterpiece of domestic industry in Canada" by historian Édouard-Zotique Massicotte (1867-1947) and highlighted by the anthropologist Marius Barbeau in a book dedicated to him, the arrow sash is a truly Quebec creation, intimately linked to the history of the Belle Province. In February 2016, the Ministry of Culture and Communications announced the officiallisation of the arrow sash as part of Quebec's heritage.

This exhibition presents the evolution of the arrow sash, from its origins to today and takes visitors on a historical journey, with as fellow friends, travelers, Amerindians and Métis, Quebec artisans, who were, are and will continue to live through the arrow. The exhibition showcases a fun and original way, artefacts from Centre Marius-Barbeau, the creations of the members of the Association des artisans de la ceinture fléchée de Lanaudière et des artistes et artisans du Québec.?
