Dance performed : a version of the Broomstick Dance.
This dance, originating from the Lac St-Jean area, was meant to highlight the woodcutter’s skills at handling the axe on a jig rhythm. Back to the village, he trades in his axe for a broom ( such evenings were usually taking place in the kitchen…)
